Adopt me and love me just the way I am.

Hi, I am Ray Ray, a sweet 7 year-old, dark gray Blue Persian who is happiest in a lap.  I have golden eyes.  My new pictures make be look more brown than gray.  I am a special needs kitty who recognizes his name and will come to you.  Dr. Kendra did a wellness check when I arrived at my new foster home.  I was dragging my back legs around.  The vet thinks I suffered neurological damage at some point in my life.  I need to exercise the muscles in my back legs and have been doing that by walking on carpet.  With stronger muscles and meds I can walk almost like a regular cat now, as long as I am on carpet.  I have gotten better at walking on tile floors, as long as I keep moving.  If I stop, my feet go in different directions.  I, of course, do not know that I am a special needs kitty.  When I fall, it is just part of life and I get up and start over.  When I want attention, I stand up on my back legs and paw at mom's leg until she picks me up.  Some say I am the purrfect cat as you will never find me on the kitchen counter or table.  If I unexpectedly get out of the house, I am unable to jump over the fence.

My story . . . My family relinquished me to a shelter.  I was overlooked at the shelter because of my special needs.  There were so many cats in need of homes.  Persian cats require frequent brushing, and a lot of time and attention.  The person who adopts me must be very cat savvy and be willing to give me the care and TLC I need.

I want a loving, forever home of my own.  My ideal home is with a single woman, preferably retired, in a single-story carpeted home.  Even with the portable pet stairs, I cannot make it up onto a bed altho I have tried a couple of times.  My foster mom is hoping with time I will manage to do it.  It is all about being able to push off with my back legs which I currently cannot do.  My foster mom does not know how I will react to a "cat friendly" dog.

My wish as we Spring forward is a loving, forever indoor home -- Adopt me!

neutered, felv&fiv test negative, microchip, vaccinated
